I just went through my list of UFOs to the left there and listed the dates I started making these UFOs and I am curious to see who might have the oldest UFO out there?
I have a couple more that are not on the list that I might never complete so I didn't add them to the list to complete. I know there is one or more from the first part of 2001 but other than that I don't have one older than that. I didn't really start quilting until 2001 and was a good girl and completed my projects as I went but that was when I first began quilting and didn't know any better. But that changed once I got bit really good by the quilting bug ... now I can't stay focused on one project at a time and therefore have created my lengthy UFO list ;o)
I have a goal list there to the left also to work on a UFO before starting a new project and another to reduce my UFOs by half (?) by the end of the year. I would like to try and really do this as I feel kinda guilty to have so many projects started waiting to be finished. They are getting left to the side while I keep dreaming of new projects to create. (shame on me!) So along with stash-bustin and using thread on hand I will be striving to work on these UFOs this year too. Anyone else committed to doing the same this year? would love to hear from you.
would also love to hear who has the oldest UFO? and will you complete it?
until next time ...

Well, I am embarassed to say I have a UFO from High School. I have decided that I will never finish it. I have a Cross Stitch Project from about 15 years ago that I will finish next. I am finishing a 5 yr old UFO right now-knitted afghan. Now my current list of WIP's are getting completed before I start another top. (I can't call them UFO's yet)
Hi, I don't know if you are asking about quilting UFO's or all king of sewing :)) Tricky ;) because I have to say if it's for sewing I probably have some coat or shirt i was making and then change my mind and it's in a bag at my parents house in Bulgaria :))
For quilting, my oldest project is probably 3 years old. I recently made a goal and started finishing them too. I have 2 project that just need binding. Do you know how good it feels to finish something you even forgot about it! :)))
Good luck achieving your goals!
Happy Sewing!
My oldest UFO is my Mapleleafs for Mom quilt. I started making leaves back when I started quilting. My Mom keeps saying she's going to sell the house, and it's on Mapleleaf Lane. I have over 100 leaves now. LOL. I can probably make a couple of quilts, but 1 will be for Mom. Eventually...
my oldest quilting ufo is 26 years old. it is a collection of tumbling blocks that i stitched by hand from scraps of the clothes i made for myself in high school. some of them are just diamonds waiting to be stitched. i lost interest in the project within minutes of knotting the first thread. maybe someday i'll haul it out and try to turn it into something, but don't place bets.
Mine goes back to 1977 and .... yes .... it will be finished one day. There are 12 blocks to be embroidered and instead of making a bed quilt, I will make a wall hanging.
