Input - Ideas Please

I am reworking some rows for a friend of mine and need some input. Here they are .. whatcha think ??

when she started the swap she made her row and asked for black and white and red blocks. This is what she got and she is a bit disappointed with the colors of 'RED' they chose. To me there are burgandies in here too, which should have been used but were. I told her I'd try and rework the rows - taking them apart and laying them out differently and so on.

I was thinking of using a white sashing around the blocks to break up the colors and then using black and white prints with various red prints thrown in as bricks around the center. What do you think? Would that look okay? Would that tie it all together?

i think this is gorgeous stuff here. i would USE that burgundy. leave it as an "accent" color even though it is accidental in the body of the quilt and then throw a bunch of it into the borders...i feel an eq6 attack coming on...

the more I look at this picture the more I don't want to take the rows apart. I am thinking of leaving them all together now and then surrounding them with the white and then the black and white and the reds/burgandies - whatcha think?

on your comment - remember that the four patch and nine patch borders can be strip pieced. alternatively you could just use plain white instead of piecing. give it 1" maroon, 1" white, 1" black, 1" white, 1" maroon.
