Wanted to see how you choose what color thread you use to piece your blocks, projects and quilt your quilts with? I have lots of odd color threads and have been using them up in my scrappy blocks as I don't think the quilt police will come get me for not using grey or beige or white in my scrappy blocks/projects. But ... after I use all these up I want to know what to keep on hand for future quilty items. {Granted it might take me awhile as I have so many still to use up. I'll try and post a photo on all of them soon.}
I am curious to see what color thread most people piece with and why? If I swap out blocks/projects I normally use beige, white and sometimes black depending on the fabric choices used. I don't think I have to use these but feel safer for the thread not to show through the lighter fabrics on swap blocks.
so what color threads do you have on hand and use most often??

I use a lot of cream, grey, and a little white. For string blocks, anything goes that won't show. I also use up the odd bobbins leftover from the long arm. these become top spools or get rewound onto bobbins for my regular machine.
I use med. grey. The only time I have used a different thread colour is when I am using black fabrics - I change my thread colour then to blk. I have used beige a couple time, but the grey blends with everything, so it is what I use.
It's great that you are using up your old/other threads. They do eventually become weak, but it is definitly a great idea to use them on scrappy things. Then, the colour of the thread won't be as noticable.
So, my vote is grey thread. ;)
A couple of years ago I was given a sack full of spools. I think I started with over 50. I had every color of the rainbow, but surprisingly there wasn't any black or white. I have been using those in scrappy and other projects, just matching colors as I go. I'm down to about 15 spools now.
I use black thread with black fabrics and white with WOW, but other than that I just use from that sack.
If I had to pick 1 color predominately used it would be white.
